Servicios MultiCentro is the brainchild of Max Traversy, a Mechanical Engineer, entrepreneur, and sustainability visionary. He launched his business in 2019 with a modest storefront in Plaza Ventanas de Ojochal, offering tool & light equipment sales, rentals and repairs. Thousands of diesel, gasoline and electric motors and parts have passed through his hands.

Scattered amongst the store’s hardware, a perceptive eye could spot a solar panel or two, a water turbine, or an inverter, and in fact Max had already been in the field for years, rewiring haphazardly installed solar PV systems, and installing new ones for a select few customers. His passion for renewable energy could not yet pay the bills, so it remained a pastime while the shop continued tool rentals and repairs. But Max’s modest business happened to be the only one between Jaco and the Panama border, and it attracted the interest of a major Costa Rica tool and equipment distributor.

The president of the equipment company met with Max, and immediately realized that his business model of servicing local contractors was invaluable. He immediately granted Servicios MultiCentro exclusive rights to rent, sell and service their conventional products in the Southern Zone, from compressors to generators to heavy equipment.

And he also recognized Max’s prophetic renewables vision and granted him sole southern Costa Rica access to their recently formed renewables line. As the MultiCentro Renewables division, we offer product lines from Sol Ark, Canadian Solar, SMA, Pytes, LuxPower, and many others, at prices competitive with those in the US, and with full warranties and rapid availability.

With his partner Will Bissell (a 10-year veteran of residential, commercial, community, and utility-based solar business development), along with a team of talented local electricians and installers, Max has formed MultiCentro Renewables into a cutting edge solar design and installation company.

Our methodology has developed to streamline the procedures for installing top-quality energy management systems.  To meet your expectations, we will ensure that your project is delivered according to our mutually agreed-upon scope, schedule, and budget standards, including these milestones:

1. Site assessment to confirm all our assumptions and specifications about every proposal element, and to identify any issues affecting your project’s scope, schedule, or budget

2. Engineering, procurement, construction, and testing of the system

3. Upon commissioning, a thorough walk-through and explanation of the system and review of ownership materials

4. Guidance on using your WiFi- based application for remote monitoring and intervention

5. Ongoing technical support as needed

• Solar Panels -- We offer a variety of photovoltaic (PV) modules, all with industry-leading power production warranties.  We can mount your solar panels nearly anywhere the sun is shining - on your roof or carport, atop a ground-mounted structure, and even vertically asa fence or a wall.  Bi-facial panels let light through, so they can serve as elegant patio covers. Panels have become remarkably inexpensive, so it pays to buy the best.  We recommend Canadian Solar panels, and a few others.

• Inverters -- An inverter shunts all incoming electrical sources (whether from the grid, solar panels, batteries, a generator, or other renewable sources), into your electrical panel. Since it is the center, the “heart and soul” of your electrical system, we recommend you select the best you can afford.  Our most recommended inverter line, Sol Ark, comes with 10-year warranties.

• Batteries -- The New Normal in our part of Costa Rica is intermittent electrical grid failures, ranging from a fraction of a second to an entire day. Whether it’s a downed tree or a system overload causing the outage, there went your refrigerator or Zoom meeting or dinner!  Lithium batteries ensure that your critical circuits or appliances or entire home or business remain operational and protected.  Our Pytes batteries carry exclusive 10-year warranties, and their Latin America distribution center is just over the border in Panamá.

• Additional components and services -- When our site assessment uncovers the need, we provide electrical panel, service, and breaker upgrades.  Also critical is copper grounding - often grounding inadequate or even missing, so we will ensure it is there to protect your system.  And for roof-mounting your solar panels, we now offer Solar Stack from Florida.  These simple, innovative aluminum blocks eliminate the need for conventional racks that screw into your roof!

• Warranties -- Beyond superior manufacturer warranties, we offer an installation warranty of 30 days, and product exchange service is offered during this period, minus a 20% restock fee.  Warranties are serviced through our CR components distributor - the largest in CR.  We are also an authorized service facility for most products we sell, the only one between Jacó and the Panamá border.
